2008 Club Field Day
2008 Superstition ARC Field Day
The Fourth Weekend in June is always ARRL Field Day, even if there are five full weekends in June. For 2008, it starts Saturday, June 28 at 11:00 AM, and ends Sunday, June 29 at 2:00 PM.
We will be joined this year by several members of the Scottsdale ARC, and because we have some CW operators coming over, we will use Terry's call, NK7T instead of the club's rather long WB7TJD. Terry's call is one "DAH" shorter than Ron's call, AJ7T, in Morse code.
Bob Johnson, K7TR, gave a talk at the Scottsdale club meeting, and will give the same talk at the Superstition meeting on June 17, called, " What You Need to Bring to Make a Successful Field Day."
Field Day Location: Oak Flat Campground
Take Superstition Freeway, US60, east toward Globe. Upon reaching the Superior Tunnel, go another 1.4 miles east of the tunnel. (Google Driving Directions call out 42.2 miles from Power Road exit in Mesa to Magma Mine Rd.)
Turn right when you come to the Magma Mine Road, and take that 0.4 miles back to Oak Flat Campground, Munds Park, AZ. Correction: Munds Park is way up I-17, north of Sedona, near I-40. Why Google Maps says anything about our Oak Flat Campground east of Superior on US60 as being Munds Park, I have no clue. Different county, entirely! -- Thanks Tom, AD7PM!
