Rick Checketts, KA0/KZB (SK), passed away Wednesday July 16th.  Rick was very active in the W7ASC station, heading up the CARL Tech committee to set up the "new" Harkins shack and 21st century computer control in the shack.  Condolences and prayers go out to his family from the CARL board members, Ham Volunteers at W7ASC, and from the folks at the Arizona Science Center.

Below is a copy of the email sent out by Rick's wife, Cheryl:

"With happiness and sorrow I bring the message that Rick passed away peacefully yesterday morning [July 16].  To show our appreciation and gratitude for him sharing a part of his life with us we will [have] a small informal service on Sunday [July 19] .... And as casual as Rick was, as will be the attire.  There will be a short service and a longer reception to celebrate his life.  We welcome anyone that would love to share memories, thoughts or just a nice cold one.  Rick was not a man to destroy the environment rather become a part of it so please in lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Civil Air Patrol in his memory.  Thank you very much for making his life just that much more enjoyable for being a part of it.

"Thank you
Cheryl Checketts [W7MOM]"

73 Rick, we will miss you!
