The General license class is almost over.  We started with 14 and ended up with 10 students.  Not too bad as a lot of those taking the class get swamped by the formulas, etc.  No Maxwell's equations though! Thanks to Dave, N7TWT, and his VE team for giving the tests September 19th.  I'll have an update in the next ADAW on our newest general Class Hams!

The new Tech license class starts in about a month, Saturday Oct. 17th through to Nov. 21st (10:00am to 1:00pm).  The classes are held at Mesa Community College, room TBD.  They keep changing it on me.  Classes are Saturdays Oct. 17th - Nov. 21st 10:00am to 1:00pm (six 3-hour sessions). Flyers available at HRO or give me a call/eMail.

Well, here it is September.  Hopefully it will start cooling off in a month and the "Snow Birds" will come back to roost.  "Winter" hours with 2 shifts per day have started! With the recent loss of some of our volunteers, Rick KA0KZB (SK), and others on the sick list: Bob W7JTR, Terry K6ULA, Ed W8LDB and Snowbirds not back until October or so...  we are VERY short on Volunteers.  If you have not volunteered in a while PLEASE give me a call or eMail.

Also for September we will review and push to implement more W7ASC shack updates, get ready for some special events like the School Roundup, "Kids Day," JOTA, etc.  and get ready for the Superstition Hamfest December 5th. Look for the W7ASC table! The next CARL Board meeting is planned for Saturday September 26th in the Science Center "Boardroom" A

Spread the word at your Ham Club.  Call 480-961-1109 and volunteer now.  We have a CARL PPT Presentation available (operators are standing by) that can be presented to your club. Contact me (see below) to set it up.
