Bob Barnes, KC7Y SK
From The WB7TJD Wiki
Bob, KC7Y was often heard on the Superstition ARC repeater system, and once upon a time, like a quarter-century ago, used to run a Packet bulletin board with telephone line access. It was through the telephone dial-up modem that Larry, then-WB7CRK, would experience 2-meter Packet on a Radio Shack Color Computer and a Hayes 1200-baud modem. Bob will be sorely missed.
From an email forwearded to the Web Admin by Judy, K7JLF:
It is with a heavy heart that I share that Bob Barnes KC7Y has passed away. Bob Barnes was a long time supporter of the Maricopa County Emergency Communications Group. supported the MS150 & MS Bike Ride, the Ragnar Relay, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and many other events. Bob was often heard on many local repeaters chatting during the drive time nets and with others who happened by. Bob is survived by his two daughters and two grandchildren.
Bob was also very active with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Posse and the Special Olympics. Bob had the servant's heart.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday 6-8pm, 12/29/09, at Bunker Garden Memorial, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa http://www.bunkerfuneral.com/ The funeral will be the following day. I didn't ask, but I'm assuming they'll be starting at the same place. The funeral will begin at 10am,
Bob was challenged by diabetes and several other conditions which may have lead to his passing. Bob, Rest in Peace my friend.
