Superstition ARC General Meeting Minutes for October 2009

These Minutes are transcribed from President Mary's handwritten copy by Larry, WB7C on November 19, 2009

SARC General Meeting 10/20/09

Meeting started at 7:04 PM, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance

Brian, KC5CAY made a short announcement about the City of Mesa abandoning the property our repeater sits on.  The City of Mesa is willing to work with us, and Brian is talking to them.

Next came introductions.  Robbie, the lady who embroiders shirts, brought samples in for display.

Our Presentation was on PSK31, given by Terry and Terry, KE7GRV and NK7T.

We had a Break.

The Business portion of our meeting

Gene read the Treasurer's Report and left copies on the front table.

Copies of September's meeting Minutes were on the front table also.

Committee Reports:

Hamfest:  Everything is set, but we need to get flyers out now, and get the word out on the nets.

Nominating:  We had a few nore people volunteer to be nominated for the elections in November.

Christmas Party for Members and their families only, flyers on the front table.  The party is set for December 8th, at the Golden Corral, Power & McKellips.  Bring a white elephant gift.

Tech Committee:  Brian believes not enough people are using the airport link and wants to disconnect it.  There were arguments that people do use it; Brian said he'd leave it up for awhile.

New business:

Jeff volunteered to be our Junque Auctioneer (Next year?)

HF Outing to be mid-to-late January.  We need Elmers, equipment and a location that is very public.  We'd like to have several stations and PSK31.

We need a Refreshment Manager for 2010.

Larry (call sign) [WB7C --Ed.] told us that we can link our 501(c)3 organization to a store card; when we make a purchase, a portion goes as a donation to the charity.  Bashas' and Fry's both participate in this.  Mary volunteered to check with it.

Drawing:  50/50 was $28.00 won by Mary, KD7ZBC.

Meeting ended at 9:05 on a motion by Jeff, seconded by all.
