Credits and Purpose
This Solar Monitor Summary reports the beginning and ending times of events displayed on the N3KL Solar Activity Monitor as captured by WB7TJD.org.
WB7TJD.org credits its source of this information: http://www.n3kl.org/. That site has been collecting scientific data from NOAA and NASA to compile its N3KL Solar Activity Monitor.
WB7TJD.org has logged the Solar Monitor reports from the N3KL web site since June 24th of 2009, and took over 20,300 readings in the first 163 days of its operation. When that log began growing very long, this family of pages was created to summarize the log and reset the log file.*nbsp; WB7TJD.org is the original source of N3KL Solar Monitor activity reported in text format, and WB7TJD.org has reported in text format since August 3, 2006.
The months before we began logging witnessed an extended period of quiet as Solar Cycle 24 took a very long time to start up.
However, starting in January 2010, we have witnessed a considerable increase in disturbances on the Sun and in the Earth's ionosphere. These pages summarize the readings captured by our logger.
