Solar Monitor Summary
From The WB7TJD Wiki
This web site has been logging N3KL Solar Monitor reports since 0603 UTC June 24th of 2009, listing the date and time of each report and the Solar X-Ray status and Geomagnetic Field status, and has compiled over 20,300 readings as of 1955 UTC, November 14th, 2009.
This page summarizes the very active months of January and February, and through March 11, 2010, and the log has been updated as of March 11, 2010. The log has been cleared so it is showing history as of March 11 forward.

Background
Back in 1999, N3KL began compiling data and reporting solar X-radiation from the Sun and its effect on the Earth's geomagnetic field, which in turn affects radio propagation.
Their Solar Monitor was displayed on Web sites around the world, but the images were not read by blind users whose screen readers would only read "Status" where the image status report was seen by sighted users.
In 2006 Larry, then WB7CRK, put together a script that converts these images to plain ascii text. This script has been reporting the information gathered from n3kl.org in text format here on wb7tjd.org.
In June 2009, the script was revised to start logging its readings, and one can look back and see just when solar events last took place.
This page that you are now viewing contains the current year's data. Enjoy!
